During that week, students will have “dress up” days as a way of promoting school spirit which will lead up to “Purple & Gold” Day on the 21st. On Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m., the AHS Student Council will have their annual Powder Puff Game at Dick Hays Stadium. Admission is $3 for everyone (this includes all staff and participants) as this is a fundraiser.

Students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. on Friday and the Homecoming Pep Rally will begin at 2 p.m. in Dick Hays Stadium. Please be mindful that the buses will be running through the AHS Bus Drive which is now a one-way street.  In order to park for the pep rally, please turn into the AHS parking lot from Locust Street (do not turn at the auditorium from Rankin Street as buses will be traveling out that direction). The parade, led by Grand Marshal Bro. Jim Cross will follow the pep rally. Bro. Jim is the pastor for Ashdown/Richmond/Wade’s Chapel Methodist Churches and been very active in the Ashdown Community for the past 12 years.

Anyone wanting to have a float/vehicle in the parade will need to contact Carla Alexander at (870) 898-3562 from September 17-20. A parade number will be assigned at that time. Parade lineup will be on East Richmond St. The parade will travel the same route as in 2017 and will proceed down Locust, turn on Hagan Drive, S. Ellen, E. Locke and back to AHS.

The evening Homecoming Festivities and Coronation of the 2018 AHS Homecoming Queen will begin at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., the Panthers will kick off as they take on Haskell Harmony Grove in both team’s 7AAAA Conference opener.

On Saturday, September 22, the Ashdown Alumni Association will host their 12th annual Alumni Banquet where they will honor AHS 1971 graduate Earnest Rhone.
