The Arkansas State Highway Commission had approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Little River County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

The purpose of this project is to resurface 6.7 miles of LR 21 starting at Ark. Hwy. 32 South and continuing westward.

C&F Construction Co., Inc. of Smackover, Ark., was awarded the contract at $514, 394.92.

“We are extremely appreciative of the ArDOT State Fund Program which allows us to upgrade and improve our infrastructure,” Little River County Judge Mike Cranford said. “Without these funds we would not be able to complete these projects. We look forward to utilizing these funds to upgrade our infrastructure in the future.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2018.
