Ashdown Public Schools are proud to announce our 2018 Homecoming Grand Marshal this year is Bro. Jim Cross.

Cross was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Ark. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in finance and banking. He worked for many years at First Commercial Mortgage in Little Rock, Ark., as a Collection Manager and then as Assistant Vice President.

He answered the call into ministry in 1996 and received his Masters of Divinity from St. Paul School of Theology. He came to Ashdown in 2008 as Pastor of First United Methodist Church and Richmond United Methodist Church and has recently added Wade’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

He loves the Ashdown community and, over the last six years, has raised more than $113,000 for local charities and projects through his Walking for Christ 30 mile walk.

During his time in Ashdown, Cross has received the Public Service Award and the Steve Pierce Award for Community Service. Cross is an avid supporter of our schools, teachers and students.  He can often be seen at one school or another providing support and encouragement for the staff and students.  And, this year has become “The Voice of the Panthers” on KDQN. Cross loves this community and is proud to be a Panther.
