Free DEEP (Diabetes Empowerment and Education Program) classes will be held every Wednesday for seven weeks beginning March 6. Those interested in these educational classes will meet at UA Cossatot-Ashdown, located at 1411 N. Constitution Ave. The program is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
This free program is for diabetics and/or caregivers of diabetics.
The program will teach how to prevent complications of diabetes, how to improve eating habits and increase physical activity, how to develop self-care skills, how to utilize available resources and how to improve relationships with health care providers.
The program will be conducted by trained instructors from the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Arkansas in partnership with UA Cooperative Extension Service.
