F.D. “Pat” Patterson, 95, died Monday, March 12, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.

He was born April 22, 1922, in Ashdown, Ark., to Frank and Flora Hinton Patterson. His parents operated a small farm just north of Texarkana where they also raised Pat, Troy, Eugene and Peggy. Pat’s parents and his brothers preceded him in death. His sister, Peggy Redden, still lives in the Ashdown area.

Pat graduated for Ashdown High School in 1941 and like many young men of his generation he patriotically enlisted in the Army not long afterwards in 1942. Although his military service would not include his involvement overseas he rose to the rank of sergeant with the 328th Army Air Force Training Command stationed in Gulfport, Miss. Pat was honorably discharged in Oct. 1945.

Not long thereafter Pat moved to Dallas where he met and married his wife Mary in 1956. They would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary in April 2018.

Pat was a founding partner of aerospace supplier Texas Aircraft Milling in Grand Prairie, Texas. Leading the company was one of his greatest passions as he ultimately became its sole owner and CEO until his retirement in 2008. Pat was highly committed to supporting the US military and commercial aircraft manufacturing industry.

Pat was active in the Elks Lodge where he served as the Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed deer hunting and shooting the breeze with his contemporaries and all things related to his grand kids.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Mary, of Dallas, Texas; three children, Luanne Cook of Dallas, Texas, Donald Patterson of Dallas, Texas, and Jean Huber of New York; three grandchildren, Keeli Patterson, Rachel Cook Taylor and Dillion Cook all of Dallas, Texas.

Services were held in a private ceremony on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
