John Henry Hall Jr. ~ Foreman, Ark.

John Henry Hall, Jr. was born June 21, 1941 in Jefferson, Texas, to the late John Henry and Frances Eulalia Hall, Sr. He graduated in 1958 from New Boston High School and went into the armed forces and went to work after his honorable discharge.

He worked at Lone Star after 20-plus years and Domtar Paper Mill for 33 years in Quality Control before retiring in 2009. John was a member of the Freeman Chapel C.M.E. Church in Ashdown, Ark.; as well as a member of USW Local #1327 and SOAR Chapter of Retirees #1327 at the Domtar Mill .

In 1981, John married Evelyn Hamilton and to that union two children were born. His children and grandchildren remember him as a kind and driven father and grandfather who encouraged them to work hard and pursue their dreams. He loved his family and was also passionate about carpentry, lawn care, and cooking.

John Henry Hall, Jr. died peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Foreman, Ark., at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn Hamilton Hall of 37 years; children; Jason Errol Hall of Little Rock, Ark., and Ashley Nicole Hall of Foreman, Ark.; grandchildren: Kaiden Elijah Harris, Kenedi Lynn Harris (Foreman) and Amara Grace Hall (Little Rock); and others he leaves to cherish his memory are: daughter Markeeta Walton (Gerald); grandchildren Shatavia Walton and Aaliyah Walton; great-grandchildren Londyn Jonae Walton, Landon Dwight Jenkins and Iyah Ann-Marie Walton; and siblings Wallis Gooden (Clyde-deceased) of  New Boston, Texas , Mattie Hall of New Boston, Texas, Cleveland Hall (Minnie) of Phoenix, Ariz., Larry Hall (Bobbie) of Phoenix, Ariz., Vera Jones of New Boston Texas, Wilma Hall of Dallas, Texas, and Suzanne Hall of New Boston Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Hall, Sr. and Frances Hall of New Boston, Texas; and a brother, Johnny Ray Hall of Albuquerque, N.M.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Freeman Chapel CME Church, 321 MLK Drive, Ashdown, AR, with a repast to follow in the fellowship hall.
