Ashdown City Council Alderman Lorene Pearson announced late last week that the annual Keep Ashdown Beautiful event to be held Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14.

On Friday, April 13, we encourage our citizens to pick up trash around their house, their ditches and so forth,” Pearson said. “Also, remember the elderly and disabled that may need assistance with picking up trash.

“Be sure to bag the trash and call the City Hall at (870) 898-2622 or me at (870) 331-2283,” Pearson continued. “If there is no answer, please leave a message.”

On Saturday, April 14, the Keep Ashdown Beautiful event will kick-off at 8 a.m. at Bear State Bank in Ashdown. At noon on Saturday all volunteers will meet for lunch. Pearson said the location for lunch will be announced that morning.

“Keep Ashdown Beautiful is a great project to keep our city growing, bring in more people, and allow empty homes to get occupied,” Pearson said. “Occupied homes are way better than broken down homes. Clean spaces sell or welcome buyers a lot better.”

Pearson stated that the more volunteers there are the more area that can be covered.
