The annual Margaret Daniel Educational Foundation Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at the Ashdown High School Cafeteria.

The event, held each year, raises money to support “out of the box” innovative ideas that Ashdown teachers can receive through grant applications.

“Our supporters are varied and widespread,” AHS Principal and Foundation Board member Kay (York) Wortham said. “They delight in giving their hard earned monies to such programs, ideas that grow Ashdown students into great leaders of our community and state.”

Culinary Chef Lois Corbell, along with special guest chef Jack Madden, will prepare the evening’s meal which will be served by AHS students. Entertainment for the evening will be local pianists, sponsored by Trammell-Piazza Law Firm.

Last year more than $17,000 was raised.

Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased from any MDF board member – Brenda Tate, Kari Harger, Thad Bishop, Katrina Williamson, Beth Provence, Darren Thomas, Mallory Wharton or Kay Wortham. Tickets are also available at Ashdown High School.

This year’s sponsors are Cowling Titles, Horatio State Bank, Red River Federal Credit Union, Little River County Judge Mike Cranford, Red River Oil and Domtar.

The foundation accepts memorials, gifts, and honorariums throughout the year via any of the board members.
