Ashdown School District

The Ashdown School District Board meeting for November will be November 5, 2018 at 6 p.m.

Foreman School District

The Foreman School District Board meeting for November will be held on November, 13, 2018 at 6 p.m.

Veteran’s Day Celebration

There will be a Veteran’s Day Celebration held on the Little River County Courthouse Lawn on Monday, November 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. Light refreshments will be served. Guest speaker will be LTC (RET) Robert Smyth

Veteran’s Day Closings

The Little River County Courthouse will be closed on November 12th for Veteran’s Day.

Little River County trash will be one day behind.

City of Ashdown will be closed on November 12th, but will have City Council meeting on November 12th  at 5:30 p.m. Trash pickup will be one day behind.

Little River County Quorum Court

The Little River County Quorum Court will be held on November 13th at 9 a.m.

Ashdown City Council

Ashdown City Council will have November monthly meeting on November 12 at 5:30 p.m.

Ogden Vol. Fire Dept Fall Fest Fundraiser

The Ogden Fall Fest will be Saturday, November 3rd at the Ogden Community Center Starts at 5:15 p.m. with bingo, then 6:00 p.m. will be Hot Dogs/ Chili, at 6:45 will be the live auction, and 7 pm will be the Cake walk. All proceeds benefit OVFD! Please bring a bingo prize or dessert for cake walk.

Winthrop School Restoration Bingo Fundraiser

The Winthrop School Restoration Committee is hosting a fundraiser at the Winthrop Cafeteria on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 6 p.m. The menu for the concession stand will be frito chili pie, nachos, cookies, and drinks. All proceeds go to restoration and upkeep of museum and buildings.

LRC 4H Poinsettia Sale

The Little River County 4-H will be selling Poinsettia’s to help raise money for local programs, and trip scholarships. Contact the County Extension Office at 870-898-7224.

Land O’Lights Pageant

The Land O’Lights Pageant will be held November 3rd from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ashdown High School Auditorium. Get your applications from Jana at the Little River Chamber of Commerce or call 870-898-2758.

Two Rivers Barn Bash

Please join us for the TWO RIVERS BARN BASH benefitting the Two Rivers Museum on November 3, 2018 6:00 PM at Dee’s Barn & Venue! Prime rib dinner prepared by Darby Neeves. Two Rivers Museum on Main Street in Ashdown, is open Tuesdays through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free. Many unique items to see, plus Civil War and weapons exhibits. Phone- 870-898-7200.

Community Awareness Club to meet

The Ashdown Chapter of the Community Awareness Club meets at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Big Jake’s BBQ in Ashdown.

The Extension Get Fit Progam at UA-Cossatot in Ashdown

The Extension Get Fit Program is a community-based strength training program targeted to midlife and older Arkansans. Based on the latest research, the program is designed to:

Improve strength, balance and flexibility, Reduce the risk of falls, Help maintain independence, Increase energy, Help manage your weight, Decrease pain, Help you feel better!

Classes meet Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 10 a.m. for an hour at UA Cossatot-Ashdown. Each session includes exercises that can be done either sitting or standing and holding on to a chair. This program provides a supportive group environment and is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Little River County Intermodal Authority

The Little River County Intermodal Authority meets the first Thursday of every month at 5 p.m. in the Little River county annex building. The public is invited to attend.

American Legion Post #124

American Legion Post #124 at 2115 Buck Wright Road has an American Flag drop box in front of the Post Headquarters, 2115 Buck Wright Road, Ashdown, AR, for use by the Little River County Community to deposit worn, tattered and unserviceable American Flags. The Post will properly dispose of the deposited flags with respect in keeping with traditions and laws of the United States. The deposit box is located 10-15 feet west of the post entrance door in a weather proof plastic container mounted on the fence four feet from the ground.
