Thursday, May 2, is the date set for the 15th annual Senior Citizen Celebration and Health Fair.
The event, which will be held at the Ashdown City Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is sponsored by the Little River Health System. Labs will be from 7-9 a.m.
Lunch will be served to the attending seniors at 11:30 a.m. and door prizes, drawings, health screenings and entertainment will highlight the event. There will also be prizes for the oldest man, oldest woman and longest married couple.
Vendors who have scheduled to have booths at this year’s Celebration and Health Fair are Kindred Hospice, Encompass Hospice, Joey Bailey-Shelter Insurance, Hospice of Texarkana, Little River News who will be selling subscriptions and renewals for $20, The Sitting Service, Little River County libraries, Ashdown Dental, Christus St Michael’s Rehab, Brookeshire’s Pharmacy, Ross & Shoalmire Attorneys, Regions Bank, AARP, Texarkana Regional Aging, Walgreen’s Drug, SW Area Agency on Aging, Better Hearing, Sitters of Texarkana and SOAR.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and umbrellas.
