Trammell named to SAA Honor Roll

The Southern Athletic Association has announced the Fall 2017 Academic Honor Roll. Ashdown’s Charlie Trammell was one of 75 student-athletes who earned the honor at The University of the South.

To qualify, SAA student-athletes must have had a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.


Foreman football to host chicken dinner

The Foreman Gator football team is having a chicken dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $10 and ALL proceeds will go to help pay for the team’s state championship rings. See a football player or manager for a ticket.


AHS Alumni game moved to March 17

The 1st annual Ashdown High School Alumni Day at the baseball field at Ashdown City Park has been moved to Saturday, March 17.

The day will begin with a fish fry at noon. The meal will include fish, hushpuppies, coleslaw and French fries. The cost is $15 which includes admission to the Alumni Game.

From noon to 1 p.m. kids will be allowed to play on the field. At 1 p.m. with be batting practice followed by the Home Run Derby at 2 p.m.

At 3 p.m. will be the Alumni Game between the odd vs. even year graduates. The game is scheduled for seven innings. Admission to the game is $3 for those who do not partake of the fish fry.

Tickets for this event can be purchase from current players.

The public is invited to attend.
