Three members of the Ashdown Panther football team – Cody Barton, Chris French and Patrick Christopher -– played in the 12th annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Saturday, December 30, 2017, in New Orleans, La.

While attending an Offense-Defense Football Camp in Dallas last summer, Barton was named an Offense-Defense All-American Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was invited to participate in the December game.

This is Barton’s second year to receive this prestigious honor as he was invited and competed in the 11th annual All-American Bowl in Atlanta, Ga., in 2016 whereby his team, the “Blitz,” was victorious in winning their 2016 Bowl Game.

French and Christopher were selected for this honor from an outstanding group of thousands of athletes across the country. Their outstanding play this season representing Ashdown validated the Offense-Defense Bowl Selection Committee’s choice in selecting them for the All-American Bowl game.

The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is the culmination of a week full of events for the athletes. Prior games ha

ve featured current NFL pros such

as Heisman Trophy winners Lamar Jackson and

Cam Newton, as well as Joe Haden, Dez Bryant and many others before they were collegiate and later professional stars.
